Torn from the Flag is a very informative account of the major events in the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 - the first catalyst for the future decline of the communist system and a remarkable turning point for the advancement of democracy.

Using actual footage at the time and interviews with Henry Kissinger and Otto von Habsburg, Director Klaudia Kovac has created an exceptional movie of a piece of history that has helped shape the modern world. Screened around the world at many Film Festivals, it has received many awards and is recognised as an outstanding documentary.

In My Tehran for Sale Marzieh (Marzieh Vafamehr) is struggling to reconcile her love for her country with her desire for cultural freedom. As an actress, she is forbidden to work in the theatre. When she meets Sanan (Amir Chegini) she learns of the prospect of a life of freedom in Australia. Deciding to leave her beloved country, she is thwarted in her attempts for a visa and so resorts to other ways.

Filmmaker Granaz Moussavi, a poet now living in Australia, surreptitiously shot the film in Iran and smuggled it out in her backpack. It is an intriguing film with good cinematography and sound track - a moving tribute to a city under cultural siege.
